Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat against Australia in the first Test in Dubai on Sunday.

Australia captain Tim Paine confirmed his side's XI on match eve, announcing Aaron Finch, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne would make their Test debuts, while senior seam bowler Peter Siddle earned a recall.

Finch was presented his Baggy Green by Test great Allan Border, veteran off-spinner and former Redback Nathan Lyon gave Head his maiden cap, and champion batter Mike Hussey was on deck to hand Labuschagne the treasured piece of headwear.

Pakistan had one selection decision to make on Sunday morning and opted to go with the pace and experience of left-arm quick Wahab Riaz.
