CARMELO Anthony’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder is up.

The 34-year-old is headed to the Atlanta Hawks, where ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed he will be waived, and join a team of his choosing.

Per Wojnarowski and Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania’s reporting, a three-way trade will see the Thunder send Anthony and a protected (1-14) 2022 first-round pick (will become two-seconrd pick if not conveyed in one year) to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala.

Subsequently, Muscala will be sent to the Philadelphia 76ers, with Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot traded to OKC, and Justin Anderson to Atlanta.

Per Wojnarowski, Thunder general manager Sam Presti and head coach Billy Donovan “were given permission to talk with Schroder and they’re enthusiastic about [the] partnership.”

Anthony will receive the $USD27.9m owed once waived by Atlanta, while OKC secure nearly $100 million in salary and luxury tax savings.

It brings an end to a less than inspiring stint in Oklahoma for the 10-time All-Star, who never really found his place within Russell Westbrook’s team.

Anthony sat down with both the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat recently in Las Vegas, according to Wojnarowski.

Houston, who lost both Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute this offseason, are widely considered early frontrunners for the star’s signature.

The ageing forward averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in the 2017/18 season.
