NRL: Greg Inglis out with shoulder injury

Wayne Bennett won't make an exception to his no-needle policy for Greg Inglis as he continues to play the long game with the South Sydney superstar.

Inglis was ruled out of a second successive match with a shoulder injury on Friday.

He returned to training after a bout of food poisoning but not fit enough to take on Manly at Lottoland on Saturday.

The injury comes after the 32-year-old battled knee problems in the off-season and NRL.com reported this week Bennett would not allow him to take pain-killing injections to play.

"It's just a policy I've always had in my coaching life," Bennett said on Friday.

"I'm not making an exception to the rule there, it's just how I feel about it.

"Grand finals you might do it but outside of that I would like to think the players ... go out there and be confident that they don't need a needle to play."

Jacob Gagan will replace Inglis in the centres, while Corey Allan will play wing after Braidon Burns was injured in last week's win over the Titans.

In better news, halves Cody Walker (shoulder) and Adam Reynolds (ankle) trained freely and will take on the Sea Eagles.

"They're a good side, even when they've got one or two missing," Manly coach Des Hasler said.

"They're probably up there in that top three. I just don't think it's a good test. We just want to play well. This side has that potential and it's now about getting that consistency in their game.

"That's what going to that next level is all about."

Victory on Saturday will see Souths 4-0 for just the second time since 1971, although Manly were impressive in flogging the Warriors last week.
