Novak Djokovic is teaming up with former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker. The 46-year-old German, in a surprising move, has decided to become head coach to the Serbian champion who is attempting to win a fourth consecutive Australian Open next month.

Becker, a six-time Grand Slam champion, joins an existing coaching team headed by Marian Vajda. According to reports, will work with Djokovic from the first Grand Slam of the season in Australia, which starts on January 13.

"I am proud Novak invited me to become his head coach," Becker said on Djokovic's official website, novakdjokovic.com. "I will do my best to help him reach his goals, and I am sure we can achieve great things together."

Becker is going to accompany the world No. 2 to all the Grand Slams as well as tournaments in Dubai, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Cincinnati, Shanghai, Paris and the season-ending World Tour Finals in London.
