Scunthorpe defender Eddie Nolan has signed a new one-year contract.

Nolan is staying with the Iron for a fourth season and wants to build on last term's promotion back to League One.

"I am delighted to be staying here for another year," he told the club website.

"We had a great season last year and we are all happy to be back in League One.

"Last season was a great year for everyone associated with the club and we are looking to push on again next season."

Nolan joins midfielder Sean McAllister in penning new terms while striker Deon Burton, winger Gary McSheffrey and goalkeeper James Severn will sign their contracts once they return from holidays.

Meanwhile, forward Matt Godden is set to join Conference South side Ebbsfleet.
