Nick Diaz doesn’t appear to be interested in taking on Anderson Silva in May.

Following his UFC 234 bout against Israel Adesanya, Silva told Jon Anik during his post-fight interview that he’d like to compete on the UFC 237 card in Curitiba, Brazil. At the UFC 234 post-fight press conference, Silva told reporters that he’d like a rematch with Diaz on the card.

Nick Diaz Not Interested In Making Return
Diaz recently took to his Instagram account to speak to his fans. When asked about a match-up with Silva, Diaz said the following (via MMAJunkie.com):

“(Expletive) all this – I don’t want to hurt nobody. I just want to party.”

Diaz’s longtime friend and training partner Gilbert Melendez recently said the Stockton native was retired. Diaz last competed back in Jan. 2015 against Silva. The initial result was a unanimous decision win for Silva, but “The Spider” got popped for banned substances. The result was changed to a No Contest.

Diaz was once scheduled to take on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235 in March. Those plans went awry when Diaz claimed he never agreed to the fight. Shortly after, UFC president Dana White confirmed that the bout wasn’t going to take place. Masvidal will now meet Darren Till at UFC London.
