Michigan is a 7-point underdog in the national championship game against Villanova Monday, but one bettor is confident in its chances.

According to ESPN, a William Hill US sportsbook took a $500,000 bet on the Wolverines to win the national title.

A @Williamhillus sportsbook in Southern Nevada took a $500,000 bet today on Michigan to win title.

At this particular southern Nevada sportsbook, the Wolverines were listed at plus-290 to win the game. If Michigan were to win Monday, the individual would net $1.45 million.

Villanova is the favorite to win the national championship game and for good reason. They can overwhelm teams with their shooting as was evident in its Final Four win over Kansas with 18 3-pointers made, but they are also very good at getting the ball in the paint and scoring from there.

However, Michigan is one of the best defensive teams in the country and it can make very good offensive teams look bad and out of rhythm. If the Wolverines get Villanova uncomfortable they could make a run at head coach John Beilein's first national title.
