Coming into the week the big worry about the Stadium Series matchup between the Capitals and the Maple Leafs in Annapolis, Md., was that weather could be a problem.

With 7:19 remaining in the third period and the Capitals holding a 5-2 lead, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium plunged into darkness.

The lights officially went out at the stadium at 10:36 p.m. ET. The game was delayed 14 minutes 40 seconds. Washington then got back to its beatdown of Toronto. To make matters worse, NBC then dumped out of the game to send its affiliates to local news and switched the remainder of the game to NBC Sports Network.
