NASCAR was hit with a snowstorm that delayed its first race back east but will get the STP 500 underway on Monday at 2 p.m. ET.

Wintry conditions were expected over the weekend and began Saturday afternoon, cancelling the qualifying and the Truck series race after just 23 laps. The snow continued into Sunday morning, making it impossible for NASCAR to get the track at Martinsville Speedway clear and dry in time for the race. It's the first time since 1993 that a NASCAR race had been called on account of snow.

With qualifying being cancelled, the starting lineup for Monday's race was determined by owner's points, meaning last week's Auto Club 400 winner Martin Truex will be on the pole. On the outside row will be Kyle Busch and starting in the second row are Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski.

Martinsville Speedway is the shortest track on the Monster Energy Cup circuit at 0.526 miles in length. The race consists of 263 miles over 500 laps. The three stages are broken up at lap 130 and lap 240.

Below are updates, highlights and results from NASCAR's race at Martinsville.

Way more snow than anticipated last night-Met with track/local authorities this morning-resources need to be dedicated to local community-roads-trees down, etc. We’ll put on a great day of @nascar Monday. #doubleheader Always a tough call but the right one in this case.
