The Yankees and CC Sabathia aren't parting ways just yet.

According to MLB.com, the 37-year-old veteran and the club reached a one-year deal worth $10 million Saturday. Sabathia entered free agency this offseason, but the Yankees always remained interested.

Sabathia, a six-time All-Star, enjoyed his best season in 2017 since 2012, finishing 14-5 with a 3.69 ERA. His success carried over into the postseason, where he went 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA.

The Yankees have been linked with Pirates starter Gerrit Cole and the Tigers' Michael Fulmer this offseason. While it's still possible the Yankees add another arm, Sabathia's return makes it a less pressing need.

Sabathia needs just 154 strikeouts to reach 3,000 for his career.
