PLEASANT continues to attract plenty of attention in betting ahead of his benchmark 70 assignment at Caulfield on Saturday.

Leading form analyst Michael Manley agrees with the sentiment surrounding the Trent Busuttin-Natalie Young five-year-old and has him on top as his best bet.

Manley also recommends punters put a little aside for Exceltara.

BEST BET

PLEASANT (R4, No. 13 $2.60)

Sparingly raced son of Snitzel, who followed excellent trial with easy six-length win at his first start for the Busuttin/Young team at Pakenham. Happy to stick with him.

NEXT BEST

DIVINE QUALITY (R2, No. 5 $3.60)

Smart mare resuming and she’s two wins from two first-up runs. She’s got form around smart horses and she’ll charge home.

VALUE BET

EXCELTARA (R5, No. 12 $16)

Consistent gelding who has form around in-form horses. Just beaten last start by a smart horse in Wassergeist at Pakenham. Will carry only 51kgs after three kilos claim for Liam Riordan.

WORTH NOTING

SIKORSKY (R6, No. 5 $4.40)

Brother to Tulip who looks to have plenty of talent in his own right judging on his recent jump-outs. Lindsay Park had him aimed at the Blue Diamond Stakes but he went shin sore.

BEST BACKED

DIAMOND BOW (R1, No. 6) $7.50 into $4.80

DIVINE QUALITY (R2, No. 5) $4.20 into $3.60

FIDAAWAY (R3, No. 1) $4.20 into $3.40

THE TRAINER: TRENT BUSUTTIN

SNOGGING (R1, No. 2 $2.70)

“She won well first-up when a bit underdone as Ollie lifted her across the line. She was flat second-up. She’s freshened up nicely, Ollie is back on and from barrier one should go well.”

PLEASANT (R4, No. 13 $2.60)

“It’s a big jump from a Class 1 to a Benchmark 70 at Caulfield but he should be able to handle it. He’ll use his speed and he should be hard to beat again.”
