PENRITH’S season is over.

That’s the view of Fox Sports commentator Michael Ennis who has written off the Panthers’ chances following their 36-16 loss to the Warriors on Friday night.

Nothing went right for the Panthers in Auckland where they were exposed in both defence and attack against a rampant Warriors outfit.

Fans even turned on the team’s general manager Phil Gould after his decision to sack coach Anthony Griffin in the lead-up to the finals.

“Their attack is so stifled, they’ve got no other option than to kick,” Ennis said.

“Their attack inside the 20-metre zone has been horrific.

“They’ve turned to kicks — whether it’s been (backrower) Bill Kikau’s two kicks in the first half or Nathan Cleary kicking early.

“Boy, oh boy, are they missing James Maloney this evening.

“ … I cant see them winning another game this year after what we’ve seen over the past month.”

Co-commentator Steve Roach agreed.

“They’ve been rudderless, they were against Newcastle last week,” Roach said.

“I expected them to come out better than last week but it hasn’t happened.”
