ARSENAL star Mesut Ozil has gotten his revenge for a joke at his expense by Stoke police earlier in the season, while the Gunners’ official attendance figures didn’t quite match the amount of fans seen in the stands at the Emirates.

It’s Premier League Extra Time!

OZIL GETS LAST LAUGH OVER STOKE POLICE

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil finally got his revenge for Stoke Police’s tweet at his expense earlier this season as the Gunners completed a 3-0 win over Stoke City at the Emirates.

The coppers poked fun at the German international after Stoke’s 1-0 home victory over the North Londoners in the reverse fixture in August.

Arsenal fan @theiwobieffect had contacted the police twitter page to ‘report a robbery,’ to which they replied ‘apologies for the delay in replying. We’ve been busy looking for a missing person, surname Ozil. Have you seen him? #banter.”

But the 29-year-old appears to have had the last laugh – tweeting after his side’s home victory - “@policingstoke didn’t help in the case of the robbery last summer so we took matters into our hands. Proud to announce we earned three hard fought points today for @theiwobieffect and all the other gunners #banter.”

Well played, Mesut!

ARSENAL’S CROWD FIB

According to the official announcement, the crowd at Arsenal v Stoke was 59,371 – just under 500 short of capacity at the Emirates.

However, a look around the stadium suggested that figure was massively inflated, as a huge amount of seats remained empty.

Manager Arsene Wenger suggested that the decreased crowd numbers were the price the club was paying for a largely uncompetitive season.

“We know that before the game, and [the fans] know as well that we don’t go for the championship. That’s the price we have to pay for that,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

Easter may have played a part in keeping fans away from the ground, but it appears the supporters may have voted with their feet.

AUBA MAKES GUNNERS HISTORY

January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is off to a flying start at Arsenal – in fact, the fastest start in the club’s history!

The Gabonese striker, signed from Borussia Dortmund, is the first player in Gunners history to score five times in their first six Premier League appearances.

His brace against Stoke, one of which was from the penalty spot, took his tally to the unprecedented mark and helps to justify his big price tag.

Aubameyang could have had a hat trick against the Potters, but instead decided to allow strike partner Alexandre Lacazette to take the second penalty of the afternoon.

ALLI’S REMARKABLE RECORD

Spurs star Dele Alli marked his 100th Premier League appearance in style – netting a brace to help his side to their first win at Stamford Bridge since 1990.

Still just 21, the midfielder is a divisive figure amongst football fans, but no one can deny the impressiveness of his record after reaching the milestone.

After 100 appearances, Alli has amassed 36 goals and 25 assists – equal to the tally belonging to Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard after the same amount of outings.

It’s an astounding statistic, and one which suggests that the young gun perhaps doesn’t command the status he should.

MORATA HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE

Alvaro Morata utilised his aerial prowess to nod Chelsea to a 1-0 advantage against Spurs – it may not have lasted – but the Spaniard’s effort notched him an impressive feat.

Morata’s opener was his seventh headed goal this Premier League campaign, more than any other player in the top flight.

The striker beats out Harry Kane (6) and Sergio Aguero (5) for the title.

Additionally, Chelsea have scored more headed goals than any other Premier League side this season – with 14.
