MATUR Maker, the younger brother of Thon Maker, has elected to withdraw his name from the 2018 NBA Draft, with an eye toward the following year.

Maker’s agent, Mike George, told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony of the development, saying the big-man will play professionally over the next season, before eyeing a first-round selection in the 2019 draft.

The Sudanese-Australian forward initially declared for the draft out of Ontario, Canada’s Mississauga Prep, having recently attended Orangeville Prep with his older brother.

Maker stands at 6’10, and boasts a 7’3 wingspan. He attended the NBA Global Camp in Treviso, Italy, in the beginning of June.

Throughout his pre-draft process, Maker worked out with five teams: the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, and Orlando Magic.

The 2018 NBA Draft is on June 22 (AEST).
