Matty Parker is literally flying towards a round one debut for St Kilda.

The South Fremantle product continued his brilliant first pre-season at the Saints with a stunning grab against the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat.

The mature-age draftee used teammate Josh Bruce’s shoulders as a launch pad as he plucked the ball from right near the behind post.

Parker produced an impressive performance in his JLT Community Series debut against North Melbourne last week, booting two goals and finishing with a game-high 33 pressure acts and seven tackles.

Coach Alan Richardson was recently asked about Parker’s selection chances and replied: “If he were to continue that sort of form and be able to execute his role the way he did at the weekend, he's going to give himself every chance.”
