Juan Mata says his move to Manchester United has revived his hopes of being selected by defending champion Spain for the World Cup in Brazil.

With Spain blessed with so many excellent playmakers, Mata was in real danger of missing out on this year's tournament in Brazil after being marginalized by Chelsea.

After his club-record move to United, though, the 25-year-old Mata is set for regular playing time for the second half of the season.

Mata says "this is a great chance for me to keep playing, keep fit and show the manager of the national team I want to be there, I have to be (in Brazil). I don't know what would have happened if I had stayed at Chelsea."
