The Welshman was making his debut at the tournament at just 39-years-old after the limit was changed to a minimum of 40, with Williams turning 40 before the end of the season.

This is Williams' first title since the 2013 Rotterdam Open and he collects the £18,000 prize pot after two excellent days of snooker at the Circus Arena.

The two-time world champion didn't lose a frame en route to the final, beating Darryn Walker, Dominic Dale and John Parrott along the way.

In the final, former British Open champion O'Brien won the exciting first frame with a clearance of 39 before Williams levelled the score with break of 73.

The left-handed former world number one then dominated in the deciding third frame with runs of 21,26 and 47 to take the Seniors title.
