The out of favour goalkeeper is in advanced talks with the Spanish side as he looks to end his forgettable experience at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal.
Victor Valdes’ nightmare spell as a Manchester United outcast is set to end, with the Spanish goalkeeper on the verge of securing a free transfer to Espanyol.

The former Spain international has not played since May after falling out with United manager Louis van Gaal, who claimed that Valdes had refused to play in an Under-21 fixture towards the end of the 2014-15 season.

Valdes has since been forced to train with apprentices, he was recently banned from entering the club’s Carrington grounds when his first-team colleagues were on site.

But now the impasse looks set to end with Valdes is in advanced negotiations with Espanyol over a January transfer.
