Manchester City enjoying 'incredible experience' of chasing quadruple - Guardiola

MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester City are 15 games away from an unprecedented quadruple and Pep Guardiola has described it as an "incredible experience" to still be chasing four trophies.

No Premier League team has ever won all four competitions and not since Manchester United in 2009 was a team still challenging for it in April -- Sir Alex Ferguson's side winning the Premier League and League Cup that year.

City have the chance to move back top of the table with a win at Fulham on Saturday and Guardiola says his players are ready to give everything until the end of the season.

"It's nice to live that. We spoke about that with the team. We are privileged to be in all the competitions almost at the beginning of April and to fight for the title," he told a news conference.

"It's an incredible experience. I don't know how many teams in Premier League history have been in this position fighting for four titles. We are and it's good. I think they are fresh mentally and in the legs and we are going to try."

If they were to pull off the Treble, City would have to defend their Premier League title -- something that no team has done since the United team in 2009.

Liverpool are pushing Guardiola's side all the way but face a tough clash with top-four rivals Tottenham on Sunday, although the City boss said they can't expect the Reds to drop any points.

"We've heard from the beginning how difficult [defending the title] is," he added. "We've spoken about that. The last one-and-a-half or two months together, there is no time to regret, no time to demand something from the other ones. We put everything we have into every single game, every single minute, every competition to see how far we get.

"Maybe we cannot win but if that happens it's because the opponent is better or because Liverpool was incredibly good and we cannot chase them.

"It's still in our hands. We win all our games and we'll be champions. I'm not saying it's going to be easy. Honestly, maybe with the amount of games we have, with these fixtures, maybe we will drop points. But that's why I don't think too much. Fulham tomorrow and win the game, that's all."

City fell four points behind Liverpool in January having played a game more after a shock defeat to Newcastle United.

But since then, they have won 11 games in all competitions and Guardiola said they must keep up that pace if they are to have any chance of a quadruple.

"We have to, if we want to achieve some titles, we have to," he said.

"Newcastle helps us to realise what we are and what we have to do. We have to keep up this incredible run, if we want to win titles."
