A 57-YEAR-OLD man had his finger bitten off after a fight broke out at a Plymouth, Massachusetts golf club.

Yes, really.

A Friday afternoon round at the Southers Marsh Golf Club ended in bizarre fashion, with the alleged biter — Derek Harkins, 46 — arrested and charged with assault and battery, mayhem, and disturbing the peace, per WCVB.
WCVB reported the finger had been bitten off “at the knuckle”, with the chief of Plymouth police, Michael Boteri, later confirming doctors were unable to reattach the digit.

The trasnscipt from the police call obtained by the TV station makes for strange reading; the 911 dispatcher explaining: “Apparently there are two foursomes that got into an altercation and there’s been a finger that’s been bitten off.”

“The victim’s laying down on the main entrance road in between 3 golf carts.”

According to Police Chief Botteri, the two groups were on the 18th hole when the fight broke out.
