Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio should be good to go for the Gators when they host Missouri on Saturday during homecoming weekend, Rivals.com reports.

This is not a surprising development, as Florida was planning to play the redshirt sophomore this past weekend against LSU. That game was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.

Del Rio sprained the MCL in his left knee during the Gators’ game against North Texas on Sept. 17. Florida, ranked No. 18 in the country, is 1-1 since then, blowing a big lead to Tennessee in a 38-28 loss but beating Vanderbilt, 13-6.

“Luke is excited and itching to go," Florida coach Jim McElwain said, per Rivals. “It swelled up a little bit, if I’ll be straight up, (last) Wednesday. But we were assured that that was kinda normal. He worked fine on Wednesday, we were good to see where it was on Thursday and he was ready to take the majority of the first-team reps."

Del Rio said he’ll be able to play through the lingering pain.

“It wasn't even about pain," he said. "It was about functionality. Could the knee handle it? I was at the point last week where it could."
