Adam Le Fondre has hit the ground running in the A-League.

He’s had the second best start to an A-League career in history!

That and more in A-League Stats Insider…

LE FONDRE’S HOT START
Sydney FC striker Le Fondre is loving life down under, as he continues to snag more and more sausage rolls in Sky Blue.

He added another from the spot over the weekend in a 2-1 win over Central Coast Mariners.

Le Fondre now has six goals in his first six A-League games. Only Besart Berisha has reached that tally in the competition faster – doing so in just four matches.

DROUGHT BREAKERS
It was a drought-breaking weekend for a pair of signings finding their feet at new clubs.

Adelaide United’s Ben Halloran found his first goals in red with a well-taken double against former side Brisbane Roar. They were the attacker’s first in the A-League since Round 23 of the 2012-13 season.

Meanwhile Mariner Matt Simon – back once again at his old club – scored the opener against another of his former clubs Sydney FC. It was Simon’s first goal for the Central Coast side since Round 12 of the 2014-15 campaign.

O’NEILL LOVES IT OUTSIDE THE AREA
There were some absolute stunners this past weekend, one of which came in the form of an absolute rocket from Sky Blues midfielder Brandon O’Neill.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen him go whack from long range.

O’Neill’s sublime strike was his sixth in the A-League – incredibly, five of them have been scored from outside the box.

ANTONIS ON FIRE
It’s no secret that Melbourne Victory are in ominous form – but one of their midfielders is on track to smash a career-high.

Terry Antonis put the finishing touches on a stunning team goal to round out a 4-0 demolition of the Western Sydney Wanderers over the weekend, and in doing so hit a personal milestone.

Antonis now boasts three goals this season, surpassing his previous best career total for an A-League season. If he keeps up this pace, he’ll destroy his previous mark… we’re just six games in!

GLORY’S FIRST
Speaking of teams on fire, how about the Perth Glory?!

The team from the west may not have added another win to their record after being held to a 1-1 draw by the Wellington Phoenix over in New Zealand, but they did hit an all-time high.

The Glory are now undefeated in their first six matches of a season for the first time in the A-League era. The club did so only twice in the NSL – 1998-99 and 2001-02.

It’s their second highest points total after six matches, just one behind the 15 they sat on after six matches in the 2014-15 season.

Ominous.
