Middlesex vs Sussex

Sussex made it to the quarterfinals of the T20 Blast with their seventh win in 12 games. They made light work of a chase of 171, winning with four overs to spare. Middlesex, who opted to bat, were given a flying start by their openers - Paul Stirling and Dawid Malan - who added 57 in six overs before the former was dismissed. England skipper Eoin Morgan and Mohammad Hafeez stitched together a 77-run stand for the third wicket to build on the platform and took their team to a competitive total. However, Sussex's top four barely broke a sweat in the chase with Laurie Evan top scoring with 52, while Luke Wright was not far behind with 48.

Brief Scores: Middlesex 171/5 (Mohammad Hafeez 48, Eoin Morgan 47) lost to Sussex 172/2 (Laurie Evans 52*, Luke Wright 48, Alex Carey 41*) by 8 wickets

Somerset vs Glamorgan

Somerset moved up to the fourth spot in the South Group after a half-century by Babar Azam set up a comfortable victory over Glamorgan. Put in to bat, Azam and his opening partner Tom Banton put on a speedy 61-run stand, which was then followed by useful cameos from the middle order.

Marchant de Lange's three-wicket burst in the final over of the innings kept Somerset down to 177. But that still proved to be 25 runs too many for last-placed Glamorgan. The visitors got off to a false start, losing Shaun Marsh and Colin Ingram in just the second over before suffering another collapse - this time losing four wickets for 14 runs - by the halfway stage. David Lloyd's 63 was the only saving grace in an innings that folded up meekly by the final ball of the match.

Brief Scores: Somerset 177/8 in 20 overs (Babar Azam 63; Marchant de Lange 3-36) beat Glamorgan 152 in 20 overs (David Lloyd 63; Max Waller 3-19) by 25 runs
