Tottenham are going from strength to strength, having followed Sunday's 6-2 victory at Everton with a similarly emphatic 5-0 home win over Bournemouth to climb into second place.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring with a strike that deflected in off Jefferson Lerma, and Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura made it 3-0 before half-time at Wembley.

Another two goals followed in the second half as Harry Kane got in on the act and Son struck again, taking his tally to four goals in two matches.

With Manchester City losing again, it is proving to be a very happy Christmas indeed for Tottenham.

Positives
Spurs have spent much of the first half of the season scraping their way to tight, ugly victories but they are making life easier for themselves now, having scored three first-half goals in consecutive Premier League matches for the first time.

Mauricio Pochettino has a number of in-form attacking threats so there is no reliance on one or two players.

Meanwhile, right-back Kyle Walker-Peters made a big statement in his first top-flight start of the season, setting up all three first-half goals. The 21-year-old has become the youngest player to provide three assists in a Premier League game since Jermaine Pennant in Aug. 2003.

Negatives
Spurs had to come from behind to beat Everton on Sunday while conceding twice, and it could easily have been a similar story here.

Bournemouth had two good chances before Eriksen's opener and managed 14 shots in total -- more than the 10 fired by hosts.

A more clinical side may well have given Tottenham an awkward afternoon, and there is room for improvement defensively.

Manager Rating out of 10
8 -- Clearly keen to maintain momentum, Pochettino picked a strong side, with the influential Moussa Sissoko starting a sixth successive match and Son also getting the nod again instead of Erik Lamela. While the Argentine boss was a little fortunate that his defence did not concede after three changes at the back, this was another big success. The only surprise is that he didn't make a change until the 77th minute and that he left Sissoko on until the end.

Player ratings (1-10; 10=best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)
GK Hugo Lloris, 7 -- Bournemouth threatened fairly regularly but the Frenchman only had to make one good save, denying Charlie Daniels.

DF Kyle Walker-Peters, 9 -- While it is a little generous to classify the simple pass inside to Eriksen before the Dane's deflected strike as an assist, the young right-back played a pivotal role in the next two goals. He did well to win the ball on the edge of Bournemouth's box and tee up Son, and even better to run onto Harry Winks's pass and pull the ball back intelligently for Lucas Moura. He deserves more game time.

DF Juan Foyth, 7 -- Had a tricky task up against Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Co. but performed well and showed his confidence with a strong sliding tackle on David Brooks.

DF Toby Alderweireld, 7 -- Had a busier day than the scoreline suggests but continues to be a rock at the back.

DF Danny Rose, 7 -- Positive throughout as usual and made a superb sliding block to deny Stanislas in the second half.

MF Harry Winks, 7 -- Gave the side a solid platform and was heavily involved in Lucas's goal as he found Walker-Peters with an excellent ball over the top of the defence.

MF Moussa Sissoko, 8 -- Pochettino refuses to drop or rest the Frenchman and he again showed why here, tracking Bournemouth's pacy midfield runners in the centre and on both flanks. His popularity in now such that, when he ignored Eriksen and tried a shot from 25 yards, Spurs' fans cheered and sang his name.

MF Christian Eriksen, 8 -- A bit fortunate with his deflected goal but there was no luck involved with his assist for Kane as he floated an inch-perfect pass over the defence to his teammate.

MF Lucas Moura, 8 -- Scored his third goal in seven matches and was also heavily involved in the fifth goal, with his low strike forcing a save that allowed Son to walk the ball into the net.

MF Son Heung-min, 9 -- Started slowly but produced another clinical finish in the first half and was in the right place at the right time to make it 5-0. The South Korean has now had a hand in 10 goals in his last nine Premier League appearances, with seven goals and three assists.

FW Harry Kane, 8 -- Took his goal brilliantly, watching the ball as it dropped over his shoulder and volleying home, and his break down the left side to the byline produced Son's second goal.

Substitutes:
MF Oliver Skipp, N/R -- Came off the bench again and was neat and tidy.

DF Ben Davies, N/R -- Came on late on to give Eriksen a breather.

FW Fernando Llorente, N/R -- Made a late cameo appearance.
