Sandeep Warrier, the Kerala medium pacer, and KC Cariappa, the Karnataka spinner, have been signed by Kolkata Knight Riders as replacements for the injured pace-pair of Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi.

Warrier snared eight scalps in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament. During the course of the T20 tournament, the pacer starred in Kerala's nail-biting win against Andhra by picking up a hat-trick. He was also the highest wicket-taker for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare trophy this season, bagging 12 scalps. The 27-year-old has also been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore set-up in the past.

Meanwhile, Cariappa, the legspinner, has represented Kings XI Punjab in 10 matches, snaring eight scalps. In the just-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the spinner played a pivotal role in Karnataka's title triumph by taking 10 wickets at an average of 20.60.

Nagarkoti, the pace sensation, was ruled out of last year's IPL with a foot injury and has been troubled by a back problem since. Shivam Mavi, his Under-19 pace colleague, has also been laid low by a stress fracture of the back.

KKR will start their IPL 2019 campaign with a clash versus the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on March 24.
