SHARKS centre Josh Dugan has been ruled out of the Sharks clash with the Panthers just over 24 hours before kick off, with a shoulder injury.

David Riccio reported via twitter that Josh Dugan will not play on Friday night, due to a shoulder injury.

“Dugan was wearing a red shirt during the week, which means he was struggling with an injury that has been revealed as a shoulder complaint,” Riccio told NRL 360.

“It is not believed to be a shoulder injury suffered from the crusher tackle by Latrell Mitchell.

“I think Dugan’s emotional state may have been a factor, but the main reason for him being ruled out is injury.”

Dugan had a tough week, after suffering a neck injury due to a crusher tackle, that resulted in a suspension for Latrell Mitchell.

Dugan broke down at a press conference during the week, as he became upset with media’s continual portrayal of him in a negative light.

It is believed his withdrawal is based on a shoulder complaint and is not in relation to the emotional press conference.

In better news for the Sharks, Jesse Ramien is set to make his return from an ankle injury to soften the blow.
