Bengaluru FC will be able to avail the service of goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte in their Indian Super League (ISL) match against NorthEast United FC on December 8th at Guwahati.

A statement from the Indian Super League (ISL) has confirmed that the custodian has successfully recovered from his ligament injury and will be back in action for Albert Roca’s men.

The news comes as a great relief for the Blues who had lost their first choice keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to a suspension. Moreover, backup goalkeeper Abhra Mondal has been ruled out of action due to a hamstring injury.

Gurpreet was sent off during their match against FC Goa last week. Just minutes before the halftime, the India international took a swipe at opponent striker Ferran Corominas and was obviously given the marching order. The goalkeeper is currently serving a two-match suspension.

The statement from ISL read, “Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC will bring back goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte (jersey no 28) into the squad as a replacement for the injured Abhra Mondal.

“Ralte had suffered a low-grade II disruption of the anterior-inferior tibiofibular ligament ahead of the start of the season, having missed the club’s first three games. Ralte will replace Abhra Mondal (Jersey no 23) who has suffered a hamstring injury and is expected to be ruled out for four weeks.

“Ralte will be available for selection to head coach Albert Roca for Bengaluru FC’s upcoming game against NorthEast United FC on 8th December 2017 at Guwahati.
