South African batsman Colin Ingram won't be returning to the Adelaide Strikers for the next season of the Big Bash League, the club announced on Wednesday (May 1). After his contract ran out with the Strikers at the end of the last season, after a two-year stint with the club, he decided not to participate in the BBL this year.

For the Strikers, he had played 25 games scoring 610 runs at 30.5, striking at just under 139. In the absence of regular captain Travis head, he had led the side in 14 games too.

"We are disappointed to lose Colin but we were aware that it was a strong possibility that for family reasons he could not commit to a new contract," SACA General Manager High Performance Tim Nielsen said. "He is a quality player and leader and was one of the key players behind our first BBL title win last year. We wish Colin, Megan and family all the best."

Ingram's unavailability will have the Strikers on the lookout for their international slot to be filled. Adil Rashid, however, will return for them.
