The best of the action from Mount Maunganui as Kuldeep Yadav's four-wicket haul helped India beat New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan's century stand for the first wicket teed up India's 90-run win over New Zealand in the second ODI at Bay Oval.

Rohit (87) and Dhawan (66) put on 154 in 25.2 overs, before Virat Kohli (43), Ambati Rayudu (47), MS Dhoni (48no) and Kedar Jadhav (22no) propelled the tourists to 324-4 in Mount Maunganui.

New Zealand, who now trail 2-0 in the five-match series, lost wickets at regular intervals to be rolled for 234 in 40.2 overs, with India wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav bagging 4-45, including Tom Latham for 34.

Doug Bracewell showed some fight for the Black Caps, hitting five fours and three sixes while top-scoring with 57 from No 8, before Yuzvendra Chahal sealed India's win when he had Lockie Ferguson (12) caught in the deep.

India's total was boosted by 21 runs from the final over, with Jadhav smashing seamer Ferguson for three fours and a six, the maximum sailing over deep backward square.

Kuldeep was India's kingpin with the ball - pining Latham leg before and then going on to remove Henry Nicholls (28), Colin de Grandhomme (3) and, finally Ish Sodhi, for a golden duck.

Jadhav capped his good day with the wicket of Ross Taylor, who was stumped by Dhoni for 22, while New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson chopped Mohammed Shami onto his stumps for 34.
