Posta Rangers and Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is still the talk of the town after stopping three penalties against Zanzibar on Sunday.

The shot-stopper ensured Khamis Musa, Ahmed Said and Mohammed Issa spot-kicks did not hit the back of the net as he parried them to safety and ensured Kenya emerged 3-2 winners.

Matasi says he is happy with the way the team played, and has explained how he managed to keep out the penalties. “Well, in training my goalkeeping coach tells us to concentrate on the ball, and that is what I did and managed to make those saves.
“And it is usually the players who feel the pressure when taking penalties, so when I saved the first one; the other players were obviously tensed.

“It is a team work that has enabled us to win this competition, and everyone is so happy and excited about it,” Matasi told Goal.
Matasi won the MVP as well as the Golden Gloves Awards after conceding just two goals in the two week tournament
