At this point it was a foregone conclusion, but the Golden Knights have set the NHL record for wins in an expansion season with their 3-2 overtime win over the Jets Thursday night.

David Perron scored the game-winning goal with barely more than a minute to play in OT.

This victory gives Vegas 34 wins on the season and breaks the 24-year-old record set by the Panthers and the Ducks in 1993-94.
While Thursday night's win was dramatic as the Golden Knights needed overtime to take down the Jets, it paled in comparison to their victory that tied the record Wednesday.

In that game Vegas trailed 2-1 with less than two minutes to play but managed to score three goals in a mere 53 seconds to come away with the victory.
Vegas currently sits atop the Pacific Division with a 34-12 record. The Golden Knights took over the best record in the NHL with their victory, though it may only be for a moment as the Lightning (34-13) is currently in action against the Flames.
