The International German Superbike series are restructuring their Moto3™ class this year. New technical regulations and the 2015 calendar have now been finalized for the championship.

The new junior class in Germany will contain two categories in one - the Moto3 Standard and the Moto3 GP. Both will crown their champion at the end of the season, which is set to start on 3rd May 2015 at the Lausitzring. The first official test sessions are scheduled for the same venue starting on 27th of April.

There is high interest from teams and riders already. The well-known Freudenberg Racing Team, which has brought through stars from national to international level such as Moto2™ race winner Dominique Aegerter, will field three riders - Jonas Geitner, Tim Georgi and Matthias Meggle. Wildcard regular Kevin Hanus is also set to make his German Championship return and teams like Moto3-FGR and Ariane Moto3 are ready to participate but are still looking for riders.

In order to create a bigger grid the organizers of the German Championship were able to join forces with the Dutch Federation, which will run the Netherlands Moto3 championship directly in the German Championship.

MotorEvents, DMSB and ADAC have already given some thought to the future of riders in the Moto3 Standard / Moto3 GP class. “ADAC is striving to ensure the promotion of young talent beyond the support it currently provides to the riders in the Moto3 Standard / Moto3 GP. In order to help German riders graduate to higher racing classes after the Moto3 season, ADAC will establish a promotion pool – similar to that of the German Ski Association. MRA-Klement and Dainese have already agreed to support this concept as partners. Both companies have a long history of commitment to the promotion of young talent in German motor sport”, said Dieter Porsch, Head of ADAC Motorcycle Racing & Coordination.

Moreover, all 2015 SUPERBIKE*IDM races will be streamed live on the Internet.
