A BITTER Geelong supporter has been slammed on social media for his disgusting tweet about AFL legend Neale Daniher.

In the wake of the Cats’ horror elimination final exit at the hands of the Demons at the MCG on Friday night, David Djordjevic felt the need to make fun of former coach Neale Daniher’s battle with motor neuron disease.

“Will be good for Melbourne fans to get to hear Daniher slur the words to the song one last time I guess,” Djordjevic, who described himself as a ‘Geelong tragic’ in his Twitter bio, wrote.

Daniher, who played for Essendon before coaching Melbourne for nearly a decade between 1998-2007, was diagnosed with MND in 2013.

He has since become a prominent campaigner, raising money and awareness for medical research while winning the hearts of many Australians for his brave battle.

His Big Freeze event during the Queen’s Birthday AFL clash at the MCG is in its fourth year, raising more than $6.5M.

Djordjevic’s account, @davedj82, has since been deleted.

But it hasn’t stopped a fellow Twitter user from contacting Djordjevic’s employer AGL Energy.

AGL Energy responded to the complaint, confirming they are addressing the matter.

Sports broadcaster Andy Maher described the tweet as the worst thing he’s seen on the social media platform.

“Quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever seen produced on @twitter. And that’s saying something. What makes anyone think something like this is ok?” Maher tweeted.

The Herald Sun’s chief football writer Mark Robinson also weighed in on the horrific tweet.
