Locals in Phuket had a treat on Friday when the island welcomed sport's most-wanted trophy – and a genuine legend was also in attendance!

1998 World Cup-winner Christian Karembeu met fans and even joined some for kickabout as the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola arrived in Thailand.

“Coca-Cola, as an official major sponsor of the World Cup, intends to give the Thai people a New Year’s present with this biggest sports activity of the year,” said Sedef Salingan Sahin, General Manager of Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd.

“In bringing the FIFA World Cup TM Trophy to Thailand, Coca-Cola intends for Thai people to spend this special moment together as they will have the opportunity to experience the greatness and magic of the World Cup trophy.”

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off last week and will visit no less than 91 cities across 51 countries and six continents before settling back in host-nation Russia in May.
