Former Docker Brady Grey is now an Eagle.

West Coast are expected to announce Grey’s signing as a marquee player for newly formed WAFL team in the coming days.

The 23-year-old, who was cut by Fremantle in October after 21 appearances over five injury-ravaged seasons, attracted interest from several WAFL and VFL clubs after he was overlooked in last month’s national and rookie drafts.

He also met with Swan Districts and Perth on Friday before making his decision.

The Tasmanian showed plenty of promise at AFL level as a defensive small forward but a host of injuries - including shoulder, hamstring and ankle - halted his progress.

His best year at Fremantle was in 2017, when he kicked 10 goals in 14 games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.

West Coast will be limited to one $25,000-a-season player, two earning $500 a game and other payments capped at $350 a player per match under rules for their WAFL team.

The Eagles officially announced the signing of six players last month including former WAFL players Joel Kalajzic (East Fremantle) and Luke Salomone (Perth), Scarborough amateurs duo Joel Ashman and Liam Robilliard, Cervantes premiership defender Daniel Acres and Kingsley midfielder Andrew Fisher.
