You've probably seen countless soccer players with a headphone of Beats hanging neck. Neymar, David Luiz, Fred and other players can continue using your headphones, but must remove them in official broadcasts during the World Cup. All this because Sony, one of the main competitors of the Beats, is a partner of FIFA.

At the FIFA license agreement with Sony, the players are forbidden to use earphones when you are competing in the World Cup stadiums for an official match or event with the press. In other situations, everything is released, both players continue to be seen with the Beats headphones on buses or interval workouts.

Needless to say, being a spontaneous advertising players, marketing Beats, which does not sponsor the World Cup, ends up being much more effective than if players were using a product from a sponsor. Nobody will care if a player is tying a boot Nike Crystal or drinking bottled water (Coca-Cola), after all.

According to Reuters, Sony used the same tactic Beats at the London Olympics 2012 and sent a lot of free headsets for all players participating in the World Cup. Almost no player is using the headphones from Sony, then it seems that the action did not work.
