Australia all-rounder Ashton Turner is likely to miss T20Is against Sri Lanka [to be held between October 27 and November 1] and Pakistan [November 3 to November 8] after sustaining a fracture to his right index finger in training at the Marsh Cup. Turner is set to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

"Ashton sustained a fracture to his right index finger at training this week. After reviewing the injury with specialists, he will require a period of approximately four-six weeks before being able to return to play," WACA sports science medicine manager Nick Jones said.

This development comes as a sizeable blow for Australia, considering the impact Turner had on Australia's tour of India earlier this year. Turner was particularly exceptional in Mohali, where Australia pulled off their record chase in ODIs. Turner smashed 84 off 43 balls - with 56 off it coming in 4s and 6s - to help Australia scale down India's 358/9.

Turner also began brightly in the ongoing Marsh Cup, scoring a 49-ball 52 in Western Australia's 125-run victory over Victoria.
