RICH Charm and endearing trainer Udyta Clarke always bring out the best racing has to offer and Flemington is no stranger to their success.

Herald Sun form analyst Michael Manley says standby for another thrilling episode from racing’s much loved pair.

Manley says Rich Charm loves the straight track with three wins and his first-up run was excellent.

Despite being drawn out, Manley says look for Rich Charm to be powering home.

RACE 1: 12.30PM JDRF Pin & Win Plate (2500M)

Impossible race. JAAMEH (2) didn’t turn up at Caulfield last start when he ran last behind HIGH CHURCH (1) and he’s had a raft of gear changes since. Go on his win at Flemington two starts ago over this distance when he settled last and swooped around the field for easy win producing fast closing sectionals and prompting David Hayes to suggest he was a legitimate Cups chance. MASTER ZEPHYR (3) should be ready to produce his best. He ran on well to finish fourth behind stablemate High Church. TIFFANY’S LASS (7) is racing in great fashion with two wins and four seconds from her past six starts including tough all the way win at The Valley. How do you assess Gai’s Japanese import HUSH WRITER (4) who over-raced when he made his Australian debut at Moonee Valley last week. If he settles then he’s likely to turn things around.

SUGGESTED BET: JAAMEH THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Master Zephyr $9-$7.50
Mr Clarify $16-$14 ($2000 x $5000 e/w @ $16/$3.50)
The Statesman $7-$6.50

RACE 2: 1.05PM CAP D’ANTIBES STAKES (1100M)

MULTAJA (4) was ridden upside down by going forward in an attempt to overcome the track bias at Moonee Valley last start and was grabbed in the final stride by SWEET ROCKETTE (6) who sat wide and still managed to win in an impressive performance. Look for Multaja to settle back and fly home. Newcastle filly SMART MELODY (7) has won her three starts in brilliant fashion, all on rain affected tracks. Her first two were by five lengths at Newcastle and Canterbury and at her last start she took a sit behind the speed and won comfortably at Wyong. She’s drawn barrier 15 which should suit down the straight and will be ridden by Brenton Avdulla. ROOBEENA (9) showed talent as a two-year-old and resumed with a good win at Geelong Synthetic. You could build a case for every filly with next best THINE IS THE POWER (8), SETSUNA (1) and ZIZZIS (2).

SUGGESTED BET: MULTAJA EACH-WAY

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Setsuna $11-$15
Satin Slipper $9-$13
Multaja $3.40-$3.90
Sweet Rockette $11-$14-$12 ($3,000 @ $14, $200 @ $14)
Smart Melody $2.60-$2.80

RACE 3: 1.40PM THE SOFITEL (1400M)

THEANSWERMYFRIEND (1) is flying with three wins on end and he returns to his favourite track and distance — 1400m at Flemington — where he’s had five starts for three wins and two seconds beaten in photos each time. He’ll push forward to lead from another 1400m specialist DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR (2) who will likely stalk him. If that pair cut each other up in the lead then that will play into the hands of WAGING WAR (8) who finished on strongly to finish third at his last start in Adelaide behind Theanswermyfriend. He can produce fast closing sectionals. Sydney galloper FLOW (3) should get a good on speed run. He’s had 10 starts over 1400m for five wins and two seconds. CLIFF’S EDGE (5) will be fitter for first-up run when 10th over 1100m at Caulfield. He finished second at Group 3 level this track and distance last campaign.

SUGGESTED BET: THEANSWERMYFRIEND THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Cliff’s Edge $12-$9.50 ($200 @ $12, $500 @ $9)
Waging War $6-$5

RACE 4: 2.15PM ANTLER LUGGAGE PLATE (1400M)

BRUTAL (3) just got up to win last start at Moonee Valley but although the margin was small it was a still a meritorious victory as he was under pressure chasing Tavonian and didn’t handle the bend but he knuckled down to get up. From barrier one he’ll be leading or on the speed at a more relaxed tempo and he’ll take catching. LEONARDO DA HINCHI (11) ran on well in the same race to finish third. THE AUGUST (6) flew home for second behind Native Soldier at Caulfield last start and 1400m should suit. The unknown quantities are DECLARATIONOFHEART (13) who charged home to make it two from two when he was successful at Sandown Hillside. The son of Frankel, FAROOQ (10) was strong winning first-up at Morphettville Parks over 1250m when he sat wide and outsprinted his rivals. AKKADIAN (9) was impressive winning first-up at Ballarat.

SUGGESTED BET: BRUTAL THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Brutal $2.50-$2.30
Leonardo Da Hinchi $12-$9
Declartionofheart $12-$9.50-$10 ($150 x $350 e/w @ $10/$3, $200 x $100 e/w @ $10/$3, $200 e/w @ $9.50/$2.70)

RACE 5: 2.50PM BOBBIE LEWIS QUALITY (1200M)

RICH CHARM (4) got out of his ground but finished on resolutely for first-up fourth at Caulfield in the Group 3 The Heath behind Ball Of Muscle, and powered home with likes of Voodoo Lad and Santa Ana Lane. He loves the straight six and being drawn out in eight suits his style of racing. HEY DOC (1) was trapped wide throughout and battled on well for first-up fifth in the Carlyon Stakes at Moonee Valley. He’s a Group 1 winner and he’s had one start this track and distance for a win. Japanese sprinter KEMONO (7) finished seventh behind Ball Of Muscle in a satisfactory Australian debut. Stablemate FIRST AMONG EQUALS (6) also ran on for sixth in the same race. GRANDE ROSSO (5) has the talent to be in the finish.

SUGGESTED BET: RICH CHARM THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Bella Martini $5-$5.50
Merriest $12-$7

RACE 6: 3.30PM LET’S ELOPE STAKES (1400M)

MERRIEST (8) resumed with strong all the way first-up win at The Valley defeating Tulip who was unlucky last week at Moonee Valley. Her last appearance at this track/distance/class she finished second to the Robert Smerdon trained Now Or Later. She’s drawn to take a good position on the speed. PETITION (13) finished off nicely for first-up fourth in the Cockram Stakes at Caulfield behind Ellicazoom. BELLARIA (14) sat wide but rallied hard to dead-heat with MRS GARDENIA (11) over 1400m at Caulfield last start. I AM A STAR (1) is the class act in the field and she finished off strongly for third in that race. She loves Flemington which was the scene of her Group 1 win. BELLA MARTINI (2) wasn’t beaten far when she resumed when fourth behind Osborne Bulls. She won the Group 2 Kewney Stakes this track and distance two starts ago.

SUGGESTED BET: MERRIEST EACH-WAY

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Rich Charm $3.90-$3.80 ($500 @ $3.80)

RACE 7: 4.10PM PFD FOOD SERVICES MAKYBE DIVA STAKES (1600M)

KEMENTARI (11) endured a tough run when wide throughout but he kept coming when just beaten by HUMIDOR (3) in the Memsie Stakes. His best win was in the Randwick Guineas over 1600m last campaign and expect Craig Williams to be positive on him. Look for an improvement from GRUNT (12) whose two runs over 1400m at Caulfield have been useful but he’ll be much better suited in this as his biggest win was 1600m at Flemington in the Australian Guineas. He’ll also settle forward in a race where there is a query on the speed. HUMIDOR (3) sat back but was produced at the right time when last stride winner of the Memsie Stakes. He’s a star galloper but tempo might be against him. Stablemate KING’S WILL DREAM (10) has been awesome in his two runs back from a spell over 1400m at Caulfield. 1600m will suit better but this will be run at a different tempo.

Veterans HAPPY CLAPPER (1) and BLACK HEART BART (2) are still good enough to take this out.

SUGGESTED BET: KEMENTARI THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Humidor $4.40-$4 ($700 @ $4.40, $2,000 @ $4.20, $250 @ $4)
Kings Will Dream $4.40-$4.60 ($1,000 @ $4.60, $225 @ $4.60, $200 @ $4.60, $600 @ $4.40, $500 @ $4.60, $400 @ $4.60, $296 @ $4.40, $200 @ $4.40)
Kementari $3.50-$3.80

RACE 8: 4.50PM DANEHILL STAKES (1200M)

NATIVE SOLDIER (3) flew across from his outside barrier and was engaged in a major speed battle with two others, Rock Hard and Tony Nicconi, who he dropped early in the straight and then sailed away for an easy almost three lengths win. That pair finished well back. MARCEL FROM MADRID (2) was ridden out of his comfort zone to push forward at The Valley last start to offset the track bias but in the finish he tired to finish fourth behind Brutal. OCEAN KNIGHT (11) came from well back to finish fifth in the same race. TAVISAN (12) led and was grabbed in the shadows of the post by Brutal. EF TROOP (4) is a top class Queenslander galloper who should be in the finish.

SUGGESTED BET: NATIVE SOLDIER THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Marcel From Madrid $5.50-$5
Ocean Knight $7.50-$7

RACE 9: 5.30PM SOFITEL GIRLS’ DAY OUT HANDICAP (1700M)

FURRION (15) is an exciting prospect with four wins from five starts and he was unlucky at his only defeat which was a second to Lucky For All when he was blocked for a run. On that occasion he drew barrier one and was blocked in and again he has the same barrier. He toyed with his rivals when he came from off the speed, on a day which played to on-pacers, to win first-up at Geelong. Stablemate MR GARCIA (10) sat wide and finished on strongly for second behind the in-form Call Me Handsome at Caulfield. WILLI WILLI (11) was trapped wide and then was held up for a run when first-up tenth at Caulfield behind Night’s Watch. Query runner is Anthony Freedman’s Japanese import DANON ROMAN (17) who is making his Australian debut. SELF SENSE (6) has been flying over the jumps but his flat form has improved since he has gone down this path.

SUGGESTED BET: FURRION THE WIN

TAB MARKET MOVERS:

Furrion $2.50-$2.70-$2.50 ($1,000 @ $2.70, $200 @ $2.70, $200 @ $2.50)
