WEST Coast midfielder Elliot Yeo reckons Jack Redden has been the "best on ground" in the post-premiership celebrations, and says the team is still having a laugh over Jack Darling's dropped mark in the Grand Final.

The Eagles are still in celebration mode after pipping Collingwood by five points in last Saturday's Grand Final.

More than 40,000 fans welcomed the team back to Perth on Sunday, and the players have been lapping up their premiership success.

Darling's dropped mark near the goalsquare in the dying stages of the Grand Final could have cost West Coast victory.

It brought back memories of his dropped mark in the third quarter of the 2015 Grand Final, with that error costing the team dearly.

But luckily for Darling the drop didn't matter this time around.

"The boys were celebrating as 'JD's' (Darling) almost marked it," Yeo told 96FM on Wednesday.

"We thought, 'He'll take this and go back and kick it'. And then he fumbles it.

"We have a bit of a laugh about it now."

Wingman Dom Sheed was the hero with the match-winning goal from deep in the pocket.

Yeo said Sheed had been the centre of attention since then.

"The boys are getting around him a fair bit and revving him up a bit, but rightfully so," Yeo said.

"If you kick a goal like that from the pocket, you're going to get it for the rest of your life.

"The boys were saying pre-game Dom was having some shots on goal and he was in that pocket, and he nailed all of them."

Yeo revealed Redden had been right in the thick of the recent celebrations.

"You get a couple of beers in Jacky, and he spruiks up," Yeo said.

West Coast players will attend the club's best and fairest count on Friday night before embarking on their holidays.

Skipper Shannon Hurn, defender Jeremy McGovern, Andrew Gaff, Brad Sheppard, Redden, and Yeo are all expected to poll well.

The Eagles are still sweating on the futures of restricted free agents Gaff and Scott Lycett.

Lycett is expected to join Port Adelaide, while Gaff is weighing up a monster offer from North Melbourne.
