Larry Nassar already was slated to spend the rest of his life in prison, but a Michigan judge on Monday made sure he got the message in his latest sentencing on sexual abuse charges.

Eaton County Judge Janice Cunningham sentenced the former Michigan State and USA Gymnastics doctor to 40 to 125 years in prison. That term will run concurrently with the 40-175 years Nassar is already slated to serve from his recent trial in neighboring Ingham County, plus the 60-year sentence he received on federal child pornography charges last year.

"You have lived an idolized life," Cunningham told Nassar in court, via The Athletic. "You were a prominent doctor in our society. … You have been pampered and lived a high-class lifestyle and now the result is living the rest of your life in a small prison cell."

Monday's sentence is the culmination of a pair of trials in which scores of women spoke publicly of sexual abuse at the hands of Nassar. He read a brief statement before the sentence was handed down, saying he was sorry for the pain he had caused, but Cunningham was not moved.

"I am not convinced you truly understand what you did was wrong and the devastating impact you've had on victims, their family and friends," she said. "… I do not believe there is a likelihood you could be reformed."

Personal comment: FUCK THIS ASSHOLE.
