THE spotlight was on Alex Rance again with suggestions the Richmond defender may have staged for a free kick again in Friday night’s loss to Port Adelaide.

Broadcaster Channel 7 asked fans on Twitter if Rance had dived following a one-on-one contest with Power forward Charlie Dixon late in the second quarter.

Rance was this week fined $1000 for staging after a theatrical tumble against Essendon last Saturday night.

This time, however, Rance appeared to bumped off balance by Dixon with both players contesting the ball in Port’s forward line.

Despite falling to ground, Rance attempts to spoil as Dixon spilt the mark.

Against the Bombers last week, Rance was awarded a free kick when he overdramatically threw himself forward after a push from Shaun McKernan.

North Melbourne legend Wayne Carey said the All-Australian defender “has just got to cut that crap out”.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick was shocked by the reaction to Rance’s dive and leapt to his player’s defence.

Surprisingly, the latest incident involving Rance divided opinion on social media.
