THE talk of Fremantle star Lachie Neale potentially joining Brisbane in a trade has pricked up the ears of plenty in the footy community.

And Lions players themselves were no exception.

Brisbane’s midfield leader and former skipper Dayne Beams was quick to stamp his approval on the prospect of Neale heading north-east next season, if social media is anything to go by.

Melbourne radio station SEN put up an Instagram post quoting The Age’s Sam McClure on a potential Neale trade, with the reporter saying, “The chance of Neale being in Brisbane next year is real”.

Beams and Lions teammate Marco Paparone both ‘liked’ the post soon after it was put up.

Beams dispelled rumours of his own prospective off-season move, which was rumoured to be Collingwood, by reinforcing his commitment to the Lions until at least the end of his current contract two years from now.

“After having our exit meetings earlier this week, I thought it was a good time to let everybody know I won’t be going anywhere. I love the coach, the playing group, and am excited about where this footy club is headed,” Beams said.

“I have never asked for a trade away from the Lions and would like to put an end to any speculation over my playing future. I will be seeing out my contract here.”
