MANCHESTER City’s stars enjoyed some good times with their youngsters, while scenes at Manchester United weren’t quite as joyful...

Its Premier League Extra Time!

DAVID SILVA’S BABY JOY
Before Manchester City’s 6-1 victory over Huddersfield, there was already joy among the side.

As the players walked onto the park, Spanish midfielder David Silva was joined by his eight-month old son Mateo who was carried by his dad as a mascot for the day.

Mateo was born prematurely at 25 weeks in December and fought for his life, as David frequently took leave from City to be with his family.

Teammate Benjamin Mendy hailed the eight-month old as ‘man of the match.’

Silva joyfully paraded his youngster in front of the Etihad Stadium crowd in a touching moment. His afternoon only improved when he took to the field, and netted a stunning free kick in the rout.

THE FACE OF DEFEAT
Manchester United’s shocking 3-2 loss to Brighton was perhaps summarised best by the look on the face of the club’s chief executive.

Ed Woodward was caught by TV cameras scowling angrily and sat stewing as his side fell to an embarrassing defeat.

Manager Jose Mourinho had publicly demanded reinforcements in the recently closed transfer window, with Woodward reportedly refusing to make deals materialise.

As images of the disgruntled CEO hit screens, Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler said, “Manchester United have some sorting out to do with the personnel they have, he was the man in charge of bringing players in before the window was shut.

“You know from Jose Mourinho he didn’t get what he wanted and you could see that today.’”

SHOULD HUGHES HAVE SEEN RED?
Watford midfielder Will Hughes netted a cracking goal in their 3-1 win over Burnley, but according to Burnley’s manager, he shouldn’t have even been on the pitch!

The 23-year-old found the net in sublime fashion in the 50th minute, but nine minutes prior he produced a challenge that should perhaps have seen him take an early shower.

Hughes made a crunching tackle on Stephen Ward, and was lucky to only be shown a yellow card.

“We gave them two out of the three, for sure. Will Hughes scored a great goal but he shouldn’t have been on the pitch,” Burnley manager Sean Dyche said.

“I saw the tackle, I’m right on top of it and I don’t think he’s even on the pitch when he makes the tackle, it’s that far off the pitch on Stephen Ward, but the referee made a decision and decided not to send him off.”

POGBA’S PASS
While Manchester City’s goalkeeper was pinging 80-metre assists to a rampant Sergio Aguero, Manchester United’s midfield didn’t enjoy the same success.

Captain Paul Pogba suffered one particular moment of humiliation in their loss against Brighton, as the star midfielder attempted to send a pass wide to a teammate.

Embarrassingly, the World Cup winner misplaced his pass – by some distance – as the slowly went over the sideline and into the advertising boards.

Not your best moment, Paul…

KDB WATCHES ON
Manchester City were dealt a big blow earlier this week as talismanic midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was ruled out for three months with a knee injury.

But that didn’t stop the Belgian getting down to the Etihad to support his team.

De Bruyne was joined in the stands by two-year-old son Mason and the youngster was running riot – not unlike City on the pitch!

The toddler proceeded to climb all over his dad’s injured leg as the midfielder attempted to watch the game.

But De Bruyne proved crafty even away from football, marshalling his son away from his injury.
