Redskins fans and shared their thoughts Tuesday on Washington's reported decision to trade for Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.
Among the tweets were those of retired NASCAR driver — and Redskins superfan — Dale Earnhardt Jr.

When the news first broke, he expressed his intrigue through a "Big Lebowski" gif.
Nothing dull about being a @redskins fan. Full of surprises. pic.twitter.com/jxb39XpyZF

But, as usually becomes the case with fans of the franchise, he voiced his displeasure with a decision made by the team's front office, tweeting that giving up young cornerback Kendall Fuller in addition to a third-round draft pick was a bad idea.
Way too much per year for Alex. Fuller showed great long term potential in an improved defense. Get a terrible feeling about this trade. https://t.co/PnVGGq8S4X

Fuller tried to squash the trade rumors, most likely to the delight of Earnhardt, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reiterated that Fuller is headed to Kansas City.
As for current Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins, Earnhardt believes keeping him would have been too expensive.
He would have cost so much it would have crippled the teams ability to build around him and on defense.

Don’t mind Alex. Hoped to keep Cousins and avoid the cap hit but lost Cousins and somehow still rumored to take a chunk of cap space. https://t.co/TpE47NDGs9

Junior also believes Cousins would be best suited in a Broncos jersey.
Probably best place for him
