Miguel Cotto steps into the ring one final time to take on Sadam Ali on Saturday night, and Sporting News has all the results below.

A great year in the fight game is coming to a close, but not before writing one of its most bittersweet chapters.

To be a Puerto Rican boxer means a lot — there's been no shortage of great fighters hailing from "La Isla del Encanto." Hector "Macho" Camacho, Felix "Tito" Trinidad and Wilfred Benitez (to name a few) have been idolized in Puerto Rico and immortalized in the halls of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. We could see Cotto sharing the same title once he's eligible.

After all, Cotto has nothing left to prove. He's 41-5 with 33 knockouts. He faced only one three fighters with losing records in his career — and those fights came within the first five fights of his pro career. He's never dodged an opponent.

Cotto has said his decision to hang up the gloves is mainly due to spending more time with his family. Considering Cotto has done everything there is to do in a boxing ring — four division world champ, losing only to the best of the best in his career — who can blame him?

He has just one final opponent in front of him before he can retire to the sounds of the crowd cheering and the final bell, and that's the 25-1 Sadam Ali. This is the biggest fight in Ali's career, both in quality of opponent and stakes. The idea of sending a legendary fighter out on his back is probably an incredibly enticing idea.

It won't be an easy feat, but stranger things have happened in boxing.
