Durham vs Glamorgan

Rain washed out the two sessions after Lunch on the second day in Chester-le-Street. Durham, who had ended the opening day on 197/6, were revived by BJ Watling's century. Watling, who had started the day on 83, went on to score a century and remained unbeaten on 104 when Stumps were drawn, taking his side to 262/8 after Michael Hogan's four-wicket haul had dented them. They, however, recovered from a middle-order collapse on the back of Watling holding fort, who added vital runs with the lower order.

Brief scores: Durham 262/8 (BJ Watling 104*; Michael Hogan 4-35) vs Glamorgan.

Leicestershire vs Lancashire

No play was possible in Leicester with rain having the final say, washing out all of the second day's play. Richard Gleeson's six-wicket haul had helped bowl out Leicestershire for 155 on the opening day. But Lanchashire too lost opener Keaton Jennings in the two overs that were bowled yesterday before Stumps. No further play was possible.

Brief scores: Leicestershire 155 (George Rhodes 43; Richard Gleeson 6-43) lead Lancashire 2/1 by 153 runs.

Gloucestershire vs Northamptonshire

It was a similarly dull day in Bristol with rain playing spoilsport, ensuring no play was possible on the second day of the clash between Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire. On day one, Gloucestershire were in trouble at 80 for 6. Gloucestershire need another 120 or more runs to secure a bonus point that could help them progress to Division 1.

Brief scores: Gloucestershire 80/6 (Ben Charlesworth 35*; Ben Sanderson 2-19) vs Northamptonshire.

Middlesex vs Derbyshire

Rain once again intervened for a second successive day, washing out two sessions of play with play only being possible in the middle session, and only 8.4 overs were possible in the day.

Rain delayed the start and forced the teams to go into Lunch with no play in the first session. After Lunch, play resumed for a brief bit and Middlesex lost Martin Andersson soon after. John Simpson also followed, leaving Middlesex at 199/5 when rain returned and forced the players off the field. Dawid Malan, who was unbeaten on 51 on the opening day, remained unbeaten on 66.

Brief scores: Middlesex 199/5 (Sam Robson 93, Dawid Malan 66; Luis Reece 2-47) vs Derbyshire.

Sussex vs Worcestershire

In a spot of bother at 150/5 at the end of Day 1, Sussex did well to resurrect their innings thanks to George Garton's unbeaten 59 at No. 9 taking them to 288/8.

Sussex lost just three wickets on the day, keeping Worcestershire at bay. Ben Brown and Tom Clark added important runs on resumption of play on Day 2. Brown stuck around for an important 33 before falling to Ed Barnard for his third wicket. Charlie Morris struck too to pick up his third until Garton's resistance shone through as Sussex ended the day just short of 300.

Brief scores: Sussex 299/8 (Stiaan van Zyl 56, Delray Rawlins 58, George Garton 59*; Ed Barnad 3-64, Charlie Morris 3-63) vs Worcestershire.
