CHRIS Lynn has at last had some good news — his damaged right shoulder will not need surgery.

Batting powerhouse Lynn has seen specialists in Brisbane to review the damage on the right shoulder which was dislocated when he fell awkwardly at Eden Park against New Zealand on Wednesday night.

“Chris got a positive result from the doctors who said he will not need surgery,’’ Lynn’s manager Stephen Atkinson said.

“Chris is disappointed at missing the Pakistan Super League but he will be making every effort to play in the Indian Premier League and, if selected, the five one-dayers for Australia in England in June.’’

While Lynn is devastated by his latest setback which follows a string of serious injuries to his shoulders, his mood lightened at the news that he would not have to go under the knife.

Lynn will start rehabilitation work on the shoulder as soon as the joint settles down.

Though he has withdrawn from the Pakistan Super League which has just started he is hopeful of joining the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League in the first week in April.

If he withdraws from the IPL without heading to India he will forfeit his $1.8 million contract.

Should he join the team but be ruled out without playing a game he will receive half of his fee.

But if he plays a game he will get the full amount.
