Marriage is all about compromise, and now nobody knows that better than Chris Judd.

The dual Brownlow medallist’s infamous - and over-the-top - man-cave at his Brighton home was profiled everywhere after he revealed it publicly in 2015.

Complete with underground pool window, black leather couches, a stacked spirits shelf and faux antlers on the wall, it was an escape any man would dream of.

But after selling the house and taking on a massive renovation of a $7 million, five-bedroom, three-bathroom Spanish-styled mansion in Melbourne’s south-east, the idea of a new man cave has reportedly been scrapped.

The project is being managed and documented on social media by Bec, who last week shared an insight into the massive renovation.

The Herald Sun today reported that although the cave is dead, the former West Coast and Carlton great will get an area of his own to design.

It didn’t stop his mates ribbing him about it on the radio, however.

“We are not going underground because we are all getting older, it is a cocktail bar which is commensurate with our age,” he said.

“We will have the in-built bar this time. It will certainly have a formal element to it.”
