Derrick Rose is still pondering his future in the NBA, but could be nearing a decision.

Ahead of the team's 116-111 win over the Grizzlies on Saturday, Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said the veteran point guard has remained in contact with the organization and that there has been positive dialogue between the two.

Cavs general manager Koby Altman reinforced Lue's remarks and added that an update regarding Rose's status can be expected soon.
Rose is dealing with a sprained left ankle that has forced him to miss 12 of Cleveland's 23 games this season and is debating if he should rejoin the Cavs or retire from basketball amid a litany of injuries. He opted to leave the team last month as frustrations began to build and has yet to decide if he'll return.

While LeBron James said he hasn't spoken to his teammate in a few weeks, the Cavs superstar said Rose doesn't owe the team anything and should take his time while he considers his options.

"Whenever he's ready to tell us or whatever, we're ready for that," James said. "You don't ever fast-track someone's process of what they may be going through. When they're ready to talk about it or ready to bring it to the forefront, as his teammates, we'll be ready for it.

"I don't know what the organization's stand on that is. That's different. From us as players, we don't need an answer from him. We want him to be as great as he can be, off the floor first before he even thinks about being on the floor."

Rose, 29, was selected by the Bulls with the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft but has missed extensive playing time in recent seasons because of repeated injuries. The NBA MVP from the 2010-2011 season was averaging 14.3 points a game this season before being sidelined
