LINDISFARNE has ended a 21-year premiership drought, beating Huonville to win today’s SFL grand final.

After heartbreaking losses in the past two deciders, the Two Blues were challenged early by the Lions but after a five goal to zero third term, the Two Blues ran away with an 84-point win, 19.15 (129) to 6.9 (45).

Big man Michael Cassidy was marking everything all day and claimed The Gorringe-Martin Medal as best on ground with his seven goals.

Cassidy combined with fellow tall Michael Blackburn (three goals) to form a dominating duo that worried the Lions defence all day.

It was the third premiership win for the Two Blues today with the women’s and reserves side also claiming the flag.
